Predominantly based amongst beautiful landscape settings dotted around the country the Kibbutz life is a modern day phenomenon and a totally unique way of living. The movement which started in 1905 is a collective community way of living traditionally based on agriculture. Each kibbutz would sell its own produce.  The people living on them would all collectively work together to preserve it and work the land.

The word ‘Kibbutz’ in Hebrew means group. The point being it is a voluntary democratic community where people live and work together to generate economically. It is founded on the principles of communal ownership of property and social equality.

Some would describe the beautiful settings and a life of equality a utopia and why not experience it for yourself?  Many of the Kibbutzim are open to visitors whether you would like to stay a few hours or a few months learning what this life is all about.
